Northern, Manchester Area news

05 December 2019

November 2019 area news article

I'd like to say Merry Christmas to all members local and far, hope you all have a brilliant Christmas, here's to 2020 being a fun packed year.
We had nine members attend our December meeting at the Moss Vale Hotel, we used there function room for the first time only to find out that the local Harley Davidson bikers group also hold their meeting there on the same day, turned out they are a great bunch and didn't mind us sharing the room which is plenty big enough for both groups.
We had a new member Mike join us and he came along in his newly acquired beautiful white TR4 with black minilte alloys, he said he had a great evening and was warmly welcomed.
Last month Ant had his GT6 recon engine installed, this month it was Monty's turn and got his recon one back in his Bond, had a bit of difficulty getting the engine and gearbox to line up and said it might have been easier to pull the engine and box out together, instead of separate.
On Paul's Spitfire, he had got his refurbed gearbox and Bell housing back together and carbs and inlet manifold gleaming and together.
We held our area Christmas party meal at the Alma Lodge Stockport on Saturday 23rd Nov, we had 18 members there and good time had by all. Then we had a drive out and visit to Bents Garden Centre in Warrington to check out all their Xmas displays, it was very busy as expected but as we got there early was OK, then met up for a meal in the restaurant and managed to get a table for us all to sit at.
On Saturday 7th Dec we will be visiting the Manchester Xmas markets, which is a couple. Of days after I wrote this article, so photos will be in the next issue of the courier magazine.
For our January New Year's run out we agreed to have a country drive out to Rudyard Lake, have a walk upto the Dam and then have lunch in then lakeside restaurant, date and meeting point TBA will be on FB and emailed out nearer the time.
At our next January meeting we will decide on our plans for runs out/events and shows for 2020, so please get your thinking caps on over the festive period and we can decide on them then.
For news and updates please check out our Facebook page TSSC Manchester Area or join us at our monthly area meetings where you will be warmly welcomed.
Well thats all from me this month,
Cheers Mark Kilgallon
